Jamie Nicholls, British Olympian & Word Cup Medalist Snowboarder – Builds his own SB Skate Ramp!

Jamie Nicholls British Snowboarder – builds his first SB mini skate ramp!  The 3’ x 8’ x 17.5’ long is a bespoke ramp, simply increasing the length of our standard 3’ x 8’ x 16’ long mini ramp.  He received the ramp in a kit format for self assembly as most clients do.

The Build Process

‘The build process was nice and easy! Everything came pre drilled and ready to put together.   All I needed was a screwdriver and after 1 days work it was built.   Super easy!  I really enjoyed the build process, I built my own ramp back when I was younger which took me weeks. This ramp was super quick and was delivered straight to my door. The mini ramp was simple to build but if you prefer the SB Ramps Ream can do it for you’.  Jamie commented.

Bespoke Home Training Ground

The SB Mini Ramp, accompanies his very own garden, dry slope snowboarding set up, keeping him active in lockdown.  Certainly the only home in the UK to feature both a dry ski slope & half pipe skate ramp. Transforming Jamie’s garden into a training space! #olympianlockdowntraining #lockdownlowdown

Jamie’s no stranger to a dry ski slope.  Having trained as a child with his cousin Katie Ormerod, Overall World Cup Snowboard Slope Champion, at the slope in Halifax, Yorkshire.

Back in the game!

Currently preparing for the 2022 Olympics in China as well as numerous world cups, it’s been a tough year for training.  Jamie commented ‘It’s been hard to get out on my snowboard, so having a skate ramp in the garden, along side my makeshift snowboard ramp has really helped me.  I’ve been able to stay focused, active and more importantly I’ve kept in tune with my boards!’.
